Marva Larraine Arter was born May 15, 1938, in Baltimore Maryland to Henson Henry Jr and Marion Gladys Smith. She attended Baltimore City Schools and was a graduate of Dunbar High School.
Marva’s walk with our Lord Jesus Christ started at an early age, she was a long-time member of St Phillips Lutheran Church (Baltimore MD) until her move to Columbus Ohio in 1990 where she found a church home at Hope Lutheran Church. She truly loved her church family and her Ruth Circle bible study group. Her deep faith in God sustained her all her days.
Marva was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting and crossword puzzles. She enjoyed spending time with her family and celebrating all occasions big and small.
Marva worked for the Social Security Administration. She retired as a manager after 26 and a half years of service.
Marva passed away peacefully from this life on Friday December 16, 2022. She was predeceased by her parents, nephew David Harvey, son-in- law Daniel N Corbett, granddaughter Kimberly R Corbett and daughter- in- law Vanessa Arter.
She is survived by daughter Ursula Arter Corbett, son Andre R Arter and son Garrett D Arter. She is survived by grandchildren: Tahira Arter, Danny L Corbett Jr, Dontae Arter, Amber Arter and Adrian Arter. Great grandchildren: Jasmine Corbett, Danny Corbett III, Emmanuel Hilton, Mykah Arter, Darius Corbett, Kya Arter, Esaias Corbett, Elohim Corbett, Aubri Best, Auri Best and A’Niyah Arter. She is survived by her sister Dr Delores S Harvey, brother-in- law Carl Harvey and special cousin Rita Novak of Baltimore Maryland.
Marva was a beloved mother, grandmother and sister and friend. She will be greatly missed by all those who had the honor of knowing her.
