Marva Louise Humphries-Johnson

November 15, 1946 — July 18, 2019

Marva Louise Humphries-Johnson was born November 15, 1946 in Columbus, Ohio. She was the fourth of six children born to Brooker, Jr. and Ella Marie Humphries. She was a graduate of Central High School in the Columbus Public School System. Marva enjoyed family time and family gatherings, making special cheese cake, greens, and potato salad, while laughing, joking, and loving every minute. She loved traveling to New Jersey, Texas, and St. Louis to visit family. Through out her life, Marva had several careers. She really enjoyed working at the Columbus Public Library. She also worked at the former Banc One and retired from Western Electric. In her later years, she married Robert Johnson and enjoyed running M & R Trucking Company. Marva departed this earth on July 18, 2019, quietly at her home after a prolonged illness. She is proceeded in death by her parents Brooker, Jr. and Ella Marie Humphries, brothers Herman, Kenneth, Booker, and Mathew Humphries, sister-in-law Dorothy Humphries, grandsons James Johnson and Michael Johnson, Jr., and Kyle Humphries. Marva was a dedicated and loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Friend. She leaves to cherish her memory children, Alicia Humphries, Michael Johnson, and Jamia (Tim) Johnson, of Columbus, Oh; brother, Robert (Lorraine) Humphries of Dallas, TX; special granddaughters, Mikko Biega, Senequa Jefferson, and Shannel Humphries; 10 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren, whom she also loved; special cousin, Monte Rocker; and special friends, Brenda Sullivan-Russel and Claudia Welch. She also leaves a special niece, Jacqueline Spann,with whom she resided, and her children and grandchildren; great niece’s and nephew, Renee, Lebanon (Bubby), and Dorothy; great-great niece, Hailey Spann; great-great nephew, Joseph Spann; and live in caretaker, Annette Parks. Marva was a dedicated and loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and Friend. in lieu of flowers, the family humbly request a donation to the Buckeye Chapter of the MS Society.
