Mary Alice (Garrison) Willis

Mary Alice Willis was born February 17, 1927 in Glen Wilton, Virginia. She passed away Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Grant Medical Center, at the age of 85. Mary retired from The Ohio State University where she worked for many years as a cook. During her longtime membership with Tabernacle Baptist Church, she was actively involved with various ministries and auxiliaries including the choir and the missionary society. Mary was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star. She was an excellent cook and had a wonderful sense of humor. She had a spirit for giving to others. As a mother, Mary saw to it that her children were always provided for and were never in need of anything. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Luther D. Willis, daughter Carol A. Willis, brother Buddy Garrison, and aunt Helen Johnson. She is survived by two sons Kevin (Janet) Willis and Kenneth (Trebia) Willis; grandchildren, Anthony (Shala), Allen, Kenya, J’Nai, Nikita, and step-grandchildren, Rodney, Raheem, and Ebony; sister June Garrison; sister-in-law Carrie Lou Battle; aunt Louise Sorrells; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
