Mary Anne (Hughes) Gilbert

Mary Anne Hughes Gilbert went to reside with the Lord on Friday, August 26, 2011. She was a loving wife, awesome mother, mentor and role model. Miss Mary Anne was a faithful member of Asbury North United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and published the church quarterly newsletter. Her previous career was with the Bureau of Unemployment Compensation, Columbus Public Schools, and the United Methodist Church – West Ohio Conference. Preceded in death by her mother Leona Ford and father Frank Hughes, Mary Anne is survived by her faithful husband Bernard D. Gilbert Jr.; children, Denise Ross, Robin Scott and Bernard D. Gilbert III; grandchildren, Misti (Daniel) Ramirez, Otis A. Ross III, Bernard D. Gilbert IV, Anthony Gilbert, Matthew Gilbert, and Marcus Gilbert; great grandchildren Asya Ross and Aden Ramirez; Great-great granddaughter Kyra Foley; nieces Teena (Terrance) Copeland, Ava (Eric) Milligan and Barbara Clark; along with a host of other relatives and friends. Celebration of Life 12 noon, Thursday, September 1, 2011 at Asbury North United Methodist Church, 1586 Clifton Avenue, where the family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the start of service. Interment Green Lawn Cemetery.
