Mary Boyd

Mary Francis Love, Chaney, Boyd was born in Molena, Georgia, September 22, 1932. She was the daughter to John and Gushion Love. Mary was known as “Star Gazer” in school for her amazing Basketball skills. She graduated from Meriwether County Training School May 24, 1946. She relocated to Columbus, Ohio in 1950 where she started her family. Mary loved her children, Shirley (Shirl) Irvin, Dorothy (Dot)Terry, Robert Chaney, Mary Ann Chaney, Vickie Johnson and Audrey Chaney. She loved Jehovah God and dedicated her life to serving him. She never met a stranger and everyone that met her loved her because she was made from LOVE and gave LOVE unconditionally. She was a caring and compassionate being. In 1979 she met Clyde W. Boyd and he asked for her hand in marriage. They married in June 1980. Their marriage extended our family with 6 more children Clyde Boyd, Jr., Charles Boyd, Elena Boyd, Alonzo Leroy Boyd, Cathy Boyd and Arthella Boyd. Mary was a mother, a sister, a grandmother, a great grandmother, an Aunt and a friend to more people than an be named. She witnessed spreading Jehovah’s word until she couldn’t do it more. Music and dancing would always put a smile on her face. Mary Francis Love Chaney Boyd departed this life on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at 89 years of age. Mary is survived by her sister Clarice Walker, children, step-children, grandchildren and great grandchildren to cherish her loving kind spirit. Husband, Clyde W. Boyd, Sr. Children, Shirley & Bob Irvin, Dorothy & John Terry, Robert Chaney, Vickie Johnson, Audrey Chaney, Elena Burris, Arthella Boyd, Clyde Jr. & Sheryl Boyd, Cathy Daniels and Charles and Cathy Boyd. Grandchildren, Jason & Jodie Chaney, Kenita Chaney, Juliet & Zeke Reardon, Jamie Jennings, Ashlee and Adriane Chaney and Randy Ragland. Great Grandchildren, Josh & Brayden Chaney, Jaylen Jennings, Ajanique, Larell & Leonte Travis, Graham, Beck, Berkley Reardon & Kynnedy Chaney. Along with a host of wonderful nieces nephews, extended family and friends. Preceded in death her parents John and Gushion Love, Sister’s Johnnie Mae Harden, Carrie Davis, brother Booker T. Love, daughter Mary Ann Chaney, granddaughter Londette Chaney, nephew Mackson (Mack)Thompson and stepson Alonzo Leroy Boyd.
