Mary Elizabeth Sharp, was born on October 3, 1936 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Clint and Mary Carter. Mary was shy and quiet as a child; and loved her family. She left her home at the age of 16 and found her own path of life. Mary was guided by the Lord and met her soul mate, husband Franklin W. Sharp. A kind, caring and loving person, Mary was more concerned with others than herself. She always took time out to spend precious time with her family. Mary worked as a day care provider, nurse assistant and Pathfinder Leader. She raised her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mary was very devoted to the church and she truly loved the Lord. She was a member of the Eastern Star and volunteered at the food and clothes pantry at the 7th Day Adventist Church. Mary loved drawing bibliography portraits, something she did on a daily basis. She loved her family and her family will miss her dearly. We will miss her conversation and precious smile. Mary passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 in her home. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Helen Taylor and son, James Cunningham. She leaves to cherish her loving memories, her husband, Franklin W. Sharp; son, Vernon Cunningham; daughters, Barbara Anderson and Loretta Cunningham; grandchildren, Jamiah, Jaquita, Sesiem, George, Schray, Dean Cunningham; Andrew Jones and Tasha Smiley; 17 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
