She received her wings to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at the Kobacker House at the age of 82 years. To all who knew her, Mary was a devoted wife, loving, devoted, powerful, strong mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She retired from The Ohio State University after many years of dedicated service. Mary was baptized in Jesus' name at an early age. She attended the Church of Christ of the Apostolic Faith, located then on Pennsylvania and Collins Avenue. Her wish to be baptized again in the presence of her family was granted and was performed by Pastor Gwendolyn Walker and Rev. Roger Germany at The Ohio State James Cancer Hospital surrounded by her beloved family. She was a strong, powerful black woman, who did not take any stuff. She loved and protected all of her family. Mary was one of the great card players, loved her TV stories, game shows, and Sunday Christian music program.
