Mary Jeanne (Barnett) Weston, of Columbus, OH, died on Friday, November 4, 2016. Born March 11, 1927 in Morgantown, WV. Resided at Westminster Retirement Community. Formerly employed by Columbus Public Schools; taught at Main St., Trevitt, Fornof, Garfield and Southwood Elem Schools. Retired in 1993. Served as an active member of Asbury North United Methodist Church for over 50 years and participated in various roles including: Girl Scouts, Children’s Communion Steward, Choir, Pastor’s Social Helpers, United Methodist Women, Financial Secretary and Nurture Care. Graduate of Walnut Hills H.S., Cincinnati, OH. Graduate of Howard University and The Ohio State University. Formerly active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. Preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Charles H. Weston Jr. and parents Arthur Barnett Sr. and Irene (Fife) Barnett. Survived by caring daughters; Jeanne Barnett (Weston) Coles and Anne Marie (Weston) Henry; grandchildren, Christina Coles, Shawn Coles, Derrick (Natalie) Coles Jr, Nicholas Henry, Justin Henry, Lance Henry; great-grandchildren, Mariah Mayes, Miah Mayes, Jaylen Harper, Angelina Coles, Christopher Coles, Alexander Coles, Chaz Rankin; brother, Arthur Fife Barnett; sisters-in-law, Laura Nell (Curtis) Cooper of Houston, TX, Laverne Eagleson of Nashville, TN, Eunice Weston of Houston, TX; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
