Mavis Agatha Bailey

Mavis A. Bailey was born August 18, 1926 to Miss Maude Stewart and Cyril Bailey. She is the fourth child of six children. On November 25, 2019, Mavis went home to be with the Lord. Mavis received her education from White Hall Public School in St. Thomas, Jamaica, West Indies. She worked for Hong Kong Restaurant in Jamaica until her migration to the United States, where she was employed by Mr. and Mrs. Jack Brown of Park Avenue, New York, New York, until the time of her retirement. In 2002, Mavis relocated to Columbus, Ohio where she resided until her passing. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Emeline and Phyllis, brothers, Leslie, Clifford, and Clement Knowles. Left to cherish memories of Mavis are her daughters, Vendel (Linton) Hibbert and Joyce Lyons; brother Keith Spencer; grandchildren, Allison (Dexter) Clarke, Marsha, Dalton, Marlon, Patrick (Racquel) Powers, Lenworth (Jessica) Knowles and Charmen Wilson; nineteen great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and dear friends.
