Mell Garne Ross, aged 58, passed away on November 1, 2023, in his hometown of Columbus, Ohio. Born on September 10, 1965, in Columbus, Ohio, Mell was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend.
Mell was known for his joyful spirit and contagious laughter, which brought joy to everyone around him. He was a hardworking individual who dedicated over 25 years of his life to the cleaning and maintenance industry. Mell started his career with Aetna Cleaning and later found fulfillment working as a Manager at Harvard Maintenance until his final days.
Mell found solace and enjoyment in his hobbies outside of work. In his younger days, bowling was a passion that he pursued with great enthusiasm. Mell also loved cars and enjoyed watching professional wrestling with his mother, a shared interest they both enjoyed.
The passing of Mell is a great loss for his family. He was the youngest among his seven siblings and is survived by his sister, Joyce Poole, and his brothers, Gary (Tina) Ross, Charles (Linda) Ross Sr., and Andre Ross. Mell had a special place in his heart for his niece, Adrian Christine Ross, and was a beloved uncle to Tina Lindsey, Tonya Harrington, Misti Ross, Angel Marable, Kesha Ross, Jamila Ross, Nathan Poole, Tejuan Marable, Otis Ross III, James Ross, Andre Ross Jr., Michael Ross, and Charles Ross Jr. Mell's lifelong friend, Victor Malcolm, shared many cherished memories with him.
Mell was preceded in death by his parents, Otis A. Ross Sr. and Mary E. Ross, his brother, Otis A. Ross Jr., and his sister, Myra Jean Ross. Their memory will forever be held dear by those who loved them.
A memorial service to honor Mell Garne Ross will occur on November 20, 2023, at Trinity Baptist Church, located at 461 Saint Claire Ave. The visitation will be held from 10 AM to 12 PM, followed by a solemn service at 12 PM. The arrangements are entrusted to Diehl-Whitaker Funeral Home in Columbus, Ohio.
Mell Garne Ross has left a legacy of laughter, dedication, and kindness. Although his absence will be deeply felt, the memories he created will forever be cherished. May his soul find eternal peace, and may his loved ones find comfort in the legacy he has left behind.
