Melva “Teresa” Johnson Keys was born in Piedmont, West Virginia on June 6, 1934. She departed this life for her Heavenly home on March 31, 2017 at the age of 82. Preceding her in this walk of life was her devoted husband, Harry O. Keys, Sr.; parents, Kermit and Almeda Johnson; sisters, Juanita Johnson-Price, and Willa M. Johnson; brothers, Kermit W. Johnson, Jr., Harold E. Johnson, Gerald S. Johnson, and Herman E. Johnson. Melva, “Teresa’s” memory will be cherished by her son, Harry O. Keys, Jr.; daughters; Valerie (Charles) Grooms, and Tanya (Keith) Binion; granddaughters, Krystyn Teresa Grooms, Kara J. Grooms, and Samantha G. Binion; special sister’s in law, Myra Perry, Thelma Stewart, Lois Johnson, Linda Johnson, and Joretta Keys; special cousin, Carol Johnson; special friend’s, Leola Stewart, Shirley Slade, Virginia Price Demerritt, Eleanor Freeman, William “Jack” Taylor, and Michael Branch; grandson in love, Darian Smith; granddaughter in love, Cassandra Cobb; and a host of special cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. The family would like to express a sincere thank you to the staff at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, OSU Carepoint in Gahanna, and the Wexner Heritage Village Rehabilitation Center.
