Celebrating the Life of Milton Otis Lee Waldrop The oldest of 8, was born July 13, 1951 to the late Otis and Loretta Waldrop in Alabama. Milton held many jobs throughout his life just to name a few Buckeye Steel, Owens Illinois, Columbus Dispatch, OSU Medical Center and Marriott hotel. In Alabama he and his brothers were well known high school athletes. Football especially. Until getting critically ill he was known by his children to be glued to the tube (TV) for football and basketball during their respective seasons. FYI he was fond of the ‘Crimson Tides'. He also was one that loved music, such artists as: Patti LaBelle, Luther Vandross, and Stevie Wonder just to name a few. Milton would visit his Aunt Betty in Ohio during his young adult years, ultimately, he made Columbus, Ohio his permanent home. He would later marry, Jimmie Waldrop, on August 11, 1973. Milton was baptized in 1975 as one of Jehovah's Witnesses and he believed in the Bible's promise that sickness, old age, and death will all come to an end in the near future and God will restore the earth to a wonderful Paradise, as mention in Revelation 21:3,4 and that too, God will do away with death forever as stated at Isaiah 25:8. He was aware of Jesus’ promise of those that fall asleep in death before Paradise arrives that they have a hope of a resurrection as mentioned at John 5:28,29. Along with his parents, Milton is preceded in death by his sister Iris Waldrop, and two grandchildren Tavion Tucker and Lalique Tucker. Those left to cherish his memory and mourn his passing are: his loving, devoted caregiver and wife Jimmie Waldrop of 45 years; daughter, Rochelle Waldrop; son, Carlos (Jessica)Waldrop, 6 beloved grandchildren, Akasha-Jatalia Waldrop, Karlos Waldrop, Jr., Karlos-Nasium Waldrop, III, Naprayisha-Tatamiesa Waldrop, Zaniya-Eyestasius Waldrop, and Karlos-Quadzino Waldrop, IV; and sister, Janet (Torrance) Ford, brothers, Marvin Waldrop, James Waldrop, Elga (Darnita)Waldrop, Michael (Michelle)Waldrop, and Ted (Sonya)Waldrop, along with a hosts of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Song 145 Godʼs Promise of Paradise (Luke 23:43) 1. A paradise our God has promised, By means of Christ's Millennial Reign, When he'll blot out all sin and error, Removing death and tears and pain. (Chorus) A paradise, the earth will be. With eyes of faith, this we can see. This promise Christ will soon fulfill, For he delights to do God's will. 2. Soon here on earth, as God has purposed, His Son will cause the dead to rise. Then it will be as Jesus promised: ‘You'll be with me in Paradise.' (Chorus) A paradise, the earth will be. With eyes of faith, this we can see. This promise Christ will soon fulfill, For he delights to do God's will. 3. The Paradise, our Lord has promised, And he is now our reigning King. We daily thank our loving Father, And from our hearts, his praises sing. (Chorus) A paradise, the earth will be. With eyes of faith, this we can see. This promise Christ will soon fulfill, For he delights to do Godʼs will. (See also Matthew 5:5; 6:10; John 5:28, 29.)
