On October 8, 1950, Mitchell entered the world as the son of the late Marion Johnson Gantt. He was born in Braddock, Pa, where he attended school. After finishing school, he enlisted in the u.s. Army where he served his country for a short while. After serving, he worked several jobs before moving to Florida. He left Florida after several years and moved to Columbus, Ohio where he obtained employment at Sears. Mitchell was full life and full of fun. There was never a dull moment when he was in your presence. He had a nickname for most of the members of the family. He is preceded in death by his sister Charlotte Johnson of Braddock, PA. He leaves to cherish his memory: 4 children, Mitchell, Jr., Alonzo, Yvette, and Michelle, all of Pittsburgh, P A. 14 grandchildren, Tyra, Michelle, Mitchell, Micaizah, Alonzo Jr., Mitchell, Alonna, Shaqurahh, Alize, Trinity, Zarha, Treyshawn, De-Sean and Shantel, all of Pittsburgh. 5 Siblings, Edgar (Poochie) (Natalie), Cassandra, Marion (Kim) Williams, Robert Gantt, Jr, and Janine (Eric),and 1 great grandchild, Naima from Pittsburgh and a very dear friend, Keisha from Columbus, Ohio.
