Monika "Nikki" Faye Franklin, age 59 received her wings on Friday, July 20, 2018 after a long battle with cancer. Nikki was born in Columbus, Ohio on October 27, 1958 to Madge and James Watson. In 1976, Nikki graduated from Gahanna High School and attended Kent State University. On January 12, 1982, Nikki gave birth to the joy of her life Nicholas. For 25 years she worked as a Compliance Officer for the State of Ohio Civil Rights Commission before retiring in June of 2006. The kind, confident and sassy Nikki that we all grew to love is an Angel now. Nikki was preceded in death by her grandmother, Florence Stinger; and parents, Madge and James Watson. She is survived by her son, Nicholas Franklin; sister, Gisele "GiGi" James; nephew, Ryan James; stepdaughters, Lisa Franklin and Cybyl Franklin; god-daughter, Italia Penn; and many other relatives and friends whose lives Nikki touched.
