Mospely “Marsha” Strong Price, the oldest child of the late James and Venus Strong, was born August 17, 1942 in Charlotte, North Carolina. At the age of twelve, Marsha moved to Columbus, Ohio, to live with her Aunt Babe. Soon after her arrival, her big cousins became her big brothers and they renamed her “Marsha Jean.” In 1966, Marsha Jean married the love of her life, Marlin H. Price. They raised their family on Miller Avenue, where Marsha Jean loved to read, sew, and cook for her family. Baking was one of her specialties; her cakes and pies were always a big hit during the holidays. Marsha Jean enjoyed entertaining and having children around. Although her colorful language was sometimes too strong for little ears to hear, we all knew her tough love was genuine. Marsha Jean’s passion for sewing led her to a career in which she managed several dry cleaners around the Columbus area. Later in life, Marsha Jean and Marlin moved to Madison, West Virginia, where she enjoyed watching her throwback westerns all day long. After winning two battles with cancer, Marsha Jean showed how “Strong” she was by remaining brave in her will to fight cancer for the third time. After another battle of sickness, Marsha Jean took off her gloves and, on February 23, 2018, passed away peacefully in Columbus, surrounded by her family. In addition to her parents, Marsha Jean was preceded in death by her daughter Michelle Price, brothers, William James “Uncle Bo” Strong” and Sidney Strong, grandson Malik Smith, and special aunt Elizabeth “Babe” Martin. Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband of 52 years, Marlin H. Price; children, Calvin (Melanie) Smith, Nikki Strong Smith, Marlin “Randy” (Cathy) Price, Monica Price, and Marliea (Johnny) Edwards; brother David Strong; sister Veronica “Kitty” Stith; brothers-in-law, Randall (Angie) Price and Chester Price; sister-in-law Essie Price; grandchildren, Demetrius, Travis, Terence, Taryn, Troy, Tyler, DiAndra, Shaun, Marie, Joliea, Quan, Stephen, Daria, Malke, Apryl, Mariyah, Johnnie, Breona, Cameron and Devon, many great grandchildren; special brothers and sister/cousins, Bobby, Harold, Calvin and Tonya Ferguson.
