Myrtle Elizabeth Bowman

Myrtle E. Bowman, age 93, born April 15, 1924, in Spartanburg, SC., passed peacefully on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at home with her family. Predeceased by her parents, Mary Boyd and Eddie Davis; husband, Walter R. Bowman, Sr. and son Walter R. Bowman, Jr, and brothers, Roy Thomas and Andrew Varner and her longtime “Dear beloved friend” Deane Keene. Survived by her sons, John, Bennie (Carol), Bruce (Grace), Nicholas (Christine), Herbert, William and Bernard Bowman; daughters Lillian (Anthony) Harrison and Cynthia Bowman Okafor; brother Charlie Jack (Nellie) Davis of Richmond, VA; brother-in-law Eddie Ray Bowman; and sister-in law, Margaret Hawkins of Spartanburg, SC and Bessie Bowman of Atlanta, GA; 20 grandchildren, 25 great-grand-children and 2 great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, including the Kanter Family.
