Nathaniel Butch Thornton was born September 9, 1952 to Annie Virginia Williams Thornton and Alfred Thornton in Columbus, Ohio. He was also lovingly referred to as “Nathan”, “Butch”, or “Bam Bam” by many of his loved ones and friends. Nathan loved to dance, listen to jazz music, tell funny jokes, and watch Kung Fu movies. He also enjoyed reading the Bible. He believed that you must cling to your standards and fight the good fight; that you must take a firm stand for the many things that are right; and that you should let nothing sway you away from God’s old commandments because they are still new today. On August 19, 2014, at the age of 61, Butch was called Home to rest with his Heavenly Father. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Mary Ann Thornton. Left to cherish memories of Nathaniel are his loving siblings, Alfred Thornton, Jr., Elizabeth Thornton Anderson (Albert Hamilton), Earlene Thornton, and Stephanie Thornton Smith; nephews, Curtis Anderson, Chris Thornton, Michael Thornton, Charles Thornton, and Derrick Thornton; and a host of other relatives and friends.
