Nathaniel Marshall was born to the union of John Marshall Sr. and Hattie Lou (Hawes) Marshall, May 19, 1940, in Columbus, Ohio and was the youngest sibling of four brothers: John Jr., James, George, and one sister, Evelyn. Born on the Northwest side of Columbus, more commonly known as Flytown, Nate was easy-going and enjoyed life. He was an avid sports fan and loved watching a variety of games from football, basketball, track and field to tennis; and regularly attended the Columbus Clippers baseball games. Listening to music, playing cards, and visiting the casino were also hobbies Nate enjoyed. Nate often met with other Flytown alums at White Castles to “chew the fat” and discuss attending Flytown reunions. Nate attended Central High School and was employed by Master Cleaning Company until retirement. For a brief period, he co-owned and operated an entertainment club business. Nate is preceded in death by his parents, John Marshall Sr. and Hattie Marshall; brothers John Marshall Jr. and James Marshall; nephew Keith Marshall and niece Marilyn Marshall. He leaves to cherish his memory and mourn his passing, brother George (Juanita) Marshall, sister Evelyn (James) Dexter, sister-in-laws Priscilla (John Jr.) Marshall and Esther (James) Marshall, devoted special niece Karen Marshall, nieces Kynee (Hernan) Cortes, Debra Edmonds, Gayle Marshall, Rosalind (Kevin) Perry; nephew John (Toni) Marshall III; and a host of great nieces, great nephews, relatives and friends. I am the resurrection and the life: He that believeth in me Though he were dead yet shall he live. And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. John 11:25-26
