Nehemiah Isaiah Roberts

Nehemiah Isaiah Roberts was born October 24, 2014 to Cassandra Marie Payne and Alassondro Othello Roberts in Columbus, Ohio. From birth, he was our little road warrior, traveling to and from Ohio and Kentucky. It wasn’t long before we realized Nehemiah was a warrior in every aspect of his life. A stubborn, loving, and happy baby, Nehemiah remained brave and strong no matter how difficult his situation. He persevered through it all. Nehemiah loved waking up at 4:00 a.m., laughing, talking, and entertaining himself. The quieter we got, the louder he was. Like his daddy, Nehemiah wore his emotions on his face. When in distress or upset, he could only be comforted by his mommy. He loved the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse “hot dog” song. Nehemiah made Daddy more selfless and Mommy a better person. He showed us all how to love unconditionally. On Monday, May 23, 2016, the angels were dispatched to Nationwide Children’s Hospital, in Columbus, where Nehemiah quietly closed his eyes as he was peacefully escorted from Daddy’s loving arms to safely rest for eternity in the arms of his Heavenly Father. He was preceded in death by his great grandmothers, Deanne Chavis and Kim Collins, and great uncles, Ricky Gunn and Allan Payne. Left to always cherish memories of Nehemiah are his loving parents, Cassandra Payne and Alassondro Roberts; sister Adrianna Jackson; brother LaTrell Jackson; maternal grandparents, Treena Payne, Shannon Wright, and Jennifer Somons; paternal grandparents, Doris Gunn and Anthony (Mary) Roberts; aunts, Amanda Roberts and Angelicia Humphries; great grandparents, Yvonne Stafford, Samuel Stafford, Rick Payne, and Paula Payne; and a host of aunts, uncles, and extended family. Nehemiah brought joy, happiness, and love to all of our lives for the brief time we were blessed to have him among us.
