Neil “Red” Bernard, age 69, of Columbus, passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2015. He was born to the late Oasby Bernard, Sr. and Margaret Lucille (Thompson) on September 24, 1945 in Danville, Illinois. Neil owned his own construction business, Neil Bernard Construction Company and did a lot of work in the Columbus area. He enjoyed his work and continued up until his untimely illness. “Red” loved roller skating, singing, dancing, and having a good time with family and friends. He also enjoyed photography. Neil is survived by his brothers, Oasby Bernard Jr., Russell Marshall Jr., and Steven Marshall; sisters, Catherine Grant and Cheryl Marshall; good friend, James Willis; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
