Nellie M. Elliott was born on May 2, 1938, in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania. She accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age. Nellie was an honorary member of the Greater New Hope Deliverance Center, under the leadership of Bishop J. S. Kerby, Sr., in Columbus, Ohio. Nellie retired from the New James Restaurant in Columbus, Ohio, where she worked for many years as a waitress. She loved her job. She also enjoyed gardening, cooking special dishes, shopping, fishing, solving crossword puzzles, and listening to gospel and country music. Most of all, Nellie loved spending time with her family and bonding with her grandchildren. On Wednesday, September 25, 2013, at the age of 75, Nellie M. Elliott made her transition while at Mount Carmel - Saint Ann's Hospital in Westerville, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, Otha Ray Winland and Myrtle Vandalia Francis. Nellie leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 46 years, Thurman Wess Elliott; daughter, Billie N. Winland-Love; grandchildren; Keishawn Winland, Charles Winland, Shanika Winland, Larenzo Winland, and DeAngelo Winland; sisters, Mollie, Freda, Marie, Esther, and Maryellen; brothers, Leonard, Lester, Tom, Alfred, Raymond, and George; sisters-in-law, Ann Tynes and Ida Carmichael; brothers-in-law, David Richards, Lloyd Richards, and Elmer Richards; a host of great grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends, including special friend, Ruby Highwater.
