Nico Cortez Johnson

Nico Cortez Johnson was born on October 29, 1992. He departed this life on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at the age of 26. Nico attended Independence High School. Throughout his life, Nico was a community advocate and acted as a big brother/protector to family & close friends. Nico enjoyed cooking, playing ball, swimming and spending time with his family & friends. He will truly be missed by all who knew him. Nico is preceded in death by great grandparents, William & Armetta “Mema” Smith; grandpa, Jacob “Pa” Holloway; uncles, William “Rip” and John Rippey. Nico’s memory is left to be cherished by his mother, Tisha; stepfather, Kelly; sons, Nazir, Nyzon and Nyzario; grandmother, Deborah, “Nana”; grandfather, Joe (Burla); brothers, Markel, Kelvon, and Briqston; sister, Tasjhara, Lauren, Kelli, Sandi and Nija; godmothers, Ambrosia & Mary Alice and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, loved ones other relatives and friends.
