Norma was born as Nanyeo Suzuki. By 1953, in an orphanage in Tachaciwia, Japan, she was chosen and loved by parents John Sr., and Rosemary Whitten. After being adopted...She travelled abroad via U.S. Army, as her family grew to include three brothers and two sisters. The family eventually settled in Columbus, Ohio. She attended Columbus Public Schools and graduated from South High School. She worked for Motown Records, Baker and Hostettler and Schottensteins, Zox and Dunn Law firms as a Legal Secretary. Norma spent her later years retired and working from home as an activist for the Democratic Party. She was very passionate about helping our country move into a more positive direction. She spent her spare time with her great grandchildren and grandchildren. She loved her whole family. She was a strong personality with courageous truth about her opinions. She was honest and charitable. Towards the end of her life, understanding that her physical death was approaching, she was thankful upon hearing about Jesus... God's grace, mercy, forgiveness and salvation. She asked, Does he forgive everybody? I answered, Yes to all those that believe. she was comforted. Norma Jean Christoff at the age of 60, passed away on September 6, 2012 at Kobacker House. She is predeceased by father, John Whitten, Sr., and mother, Rosemary Whitten; grandchildren, Troy and Torey Mullens and Cameron Ziech. She leaves behind daughters, Shannon (Col'ton) Mason and Wendie Edwards; son, Ryan Ziech; brothers, John Whitten Jr., Michael (Vickie) and Anthony Whitten; sisters, Cheryle Whitten and JoAnne Whitten-Myers; granddaughters, Tyler Whitten, Whitney Mulles; grandson, Tre’ Mullens; great grandsons, Kamari Gaston and Paul Fields, Jr.; great granddaughters, Serenity and Alexandria Fields as well as some unnamed significant others, nieces, nephews and cousins.
