O'Shay Brynden Mathews

O'Shay Brynden Mathews was born July 12, 1998 to Chalyn and Sean Mathews in Columbus, Ohio. He grew up playing Little League and middle school football and later became a passionate lacrosse player in his high school years. O'Shay attended Worthington Kilbourne High School and later transferred his enrollment to Pickerington Central High School, where he played on the varsity lacrosse team and graduated with the Class of 2016. He was a highly motivated and determined young man, who was talented and skilled in many fields, including Art. Some of his most cherished moments were getting his first car and his very own dog, Nala. O'Shay loved his family and his pets. He was a good friend to others and brought laughter to all who spent any time in his presence. O'Shay passed away October 18, 2018, at the age of 20. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Chester Eiland and Ronald Mathews, and aunt Chanelle Green. Those who remain to cherish memories of O'Shay included his parents, Sean L. Mathews and Chalyn R. Mathews; siblings, Jishon and Natael Mathews; grandparents, Donna Mathews, Marvin Boswell and Robin (Rodney) McGowan; aunts, Ebony Eiland and Dianesty Johnson; uncles, Darin (Tykea) Mathews and Johnathan (Allison) Johnson; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
