Pamela Jean Buford was born October 4, 1959 to Rev. Charles E. Miller, Sr. and Nellie E. Archer Miller in Washington, D.C. A former resident of Cincinnati, Ohio, Pamela moved to Columbus, Ohio over twenty years ago, where she united with the St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church. Pamela gave birth to two lively, intelligent and successful children, and became an avid photographer all while completing her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Pennsylvania State University. She made a career of helping individuals who could not help themselves through her positions as a rehabilitation counselor, mental health counselor, and career developer. Later, Pamela chose to return to Pennsylvania State University to complete her Master of Education in Counselor Education, all while putting her two children through school. She always made sure that her children were well educated and well prepared for life. She loved traveling to the Outer Banks with her family, having reptilian pets, and her late basset hound Clarence. She found enjoyment in collecting pears and shooting off fireworks with the family as well. Lastly, through all of the challenges she faced in recent years, Pamela was still able to get re-certified in her field to continue to help others. Pamela departed this life on Monday, August 1, 2011 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her father, father-in-law Edward Buford, Sr., and niece Christina Miller. She leaves to cherish her memory, husband Gordon Buford, Sr.; daughter Adrianna Buford; son Gordon Buford, Jr.; mother Nellie Miller; mother-in-law Irma Buford; brothers Michael Miller, Sr. and Charles Miller, Jr.; and brothers-in-law Reginald Buford and Edward Buford, Jr. She also leaves behind Charles Miller, III and Telena Miller, the children of her brother Charles; Candice Miller, John Miller, and Michael Miller, Jr., the children of her brother Michael; Candace Buford, Amanda Russel, and Reginald Buford, Jr., the children of her brother-in-law Reginald; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
