Patrice Lynn Palmer, daughter of the late Paul O and Thelma R (Thomas) Palmer found her light under the sun on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 7:05 pm at Kobacker House in Columbus, Ohio. She was born on July 9, 1954 in Columbus. In 1972, she left Columbus to attend Clark College in Atlanta, Georgia. Before returning to Columbus in 1986, she lived in Carrolton, Georgia working for Capital Records. She returned to Columbus to care for her mother Thelma. For the next 29 years Patrice then taught Special Education for Franklin County Board of Developmental Disabilities. She was beloved by her fellow teachers, administrators, students and parents for her gentle and compassionate nature and loving commitment. Pat never met a stranger and was considered the life of the party. She made the best dirty rice and loved Scrabble, playing cards and jamming to the music of Parliament Funkadelick. Pat will be remembered for her kind, loving and compassionate life. Pat will be eternally missed by her brother, Paul and sister-in-law, Gloria; niece Kelley (Christian) Carboni-Woods; nephew, O’Neill and grand-nephew Palmer, all of Charlotte, NC. She is survived by her aunts and uncles Leila Mae (Syrice) Hairston (San Antonio, TX), Sinclair (James) Largin (Clarksville, TN), Lucy Fogan (Buffalo, NY), Joseph Hylton (Tucson, AZ), Naomi Thomas (Greensboro, NC), Eileen Slaughter (Philadelphia, PA) and Pauline Palmer (Christiansburg, VA). Additionally she will live on in the memories of cousins, close friends and co-workers whose lives she touched in ways that will not forgotten.
