Paul Herman Mitchell departed this earthly life on June 24, 2021 in Pataskala, Ohio. Born on December 9, 1944 in Greenfield, Ohio Paul Herman Mitchell was the last child of Rufus McKinley (Mack) Mitchell and Bertha Mae (Banks) Mitchell. Paul Mitchell graduated from Buckskin High School in South Salem, Ohio. In 1967, he was enlisted and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War as a Supply Specialist Corporal ranked E4. Paul continued to support his military affiliations through membership in the American Legion Post #797, Gahanna, Ohio and Disabled American Veterans (DAV). After Paul's military service, he worked in various hospital facilities maintenance services. Through acquisitions and promotions Paul Mitchell acquired an IT Specialist position within Ohio State University Medical Center IT Department where he retired after 27 years of combined service as a dedicated worker. In 2009, after Paul's retirement, he started a food bank outreach which was sponsored by Kroger's and the Mid-Ohio food bank. During this time Paul reunited with a long term friendship and membership with Bishop Edward A. Black and The Church of Jesus Christ, Inc. Columbus, OH. Paul served as a Sunday School Superintend under Bishop Edward A Black. During his service to The Church of Jesus Christ, Inc. Paul met and married his wife of the last eleven years of his life, Evangelist Sarah (Banks) Mitchell. Paul Mitchell would later receive Deaconship under Bishop Mel Griffin, Presiding Prelate of Interdenominational Fellowship Ministries, (IFM) Pickerington, OH. Deacon Paul Mitchell and his wife Evangelist Sarah Mitchell in 2012 founded Triumph In Christ Ministries, Inc. Columbus, Ohio. They were ordained Elder Paul Mitchell and Pastor Sarah Mitchell under Bishop Mel Griffin, IFM fellowship. Elder Mitchell's food bank outreach ministry contributed to the growth of Triumph In Christ Ministries congregation. In 2019, Elder Paul Mitchell and Pastor Mitchell were reaffirmed under Christ Center Ministries Assembly, (CCMA) Detroit, MI, under the leadership of the late Bishop Iona E. Locke Presiding Prelate. The spiritual covering and support of CCMA has continued through the dedicated relationship with our Overseer Jeanette Williams White, CCMA Region #1. Elder Mitchell's dedicated spiritual leader has blessed many families in the community. Elder continued in service to the Kingdom of God until his health prohibited him. Elder Mitchell is revered as one of God's great men of integrity, honor and loyalty. His smile has brightened the life of anyone that ever knew him. Elder Paul H. Mitchell is survived by his loving wife Pastor Sarah Mitchell, his sister Clara L. Gothard, Columbus, Ohio, his children Paula Mitchell, Columbus, Ohio, Jason (Katina) Mitchell, Delaware, Ohio, Myra (Marc) Ellis, Hilliard, Ohio, Doreesa (Jewel) Jackson, Columbus, Ohio, Darryl-Junior (Charlotte) Herring, Cleveland, Ohio , 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Special nieces Marlene Mitchell and Diane Roquemore, spiritual daughter Minister Lannetta Farmer, Columbus, Ohio, a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews, cousins, church spiritual family and friends. Paul is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Gladys Mitchell, Beatrice (Mitchell) Ragland, Edna (Mitchell) Pettiford, Gertrude (Molly) Mitchell, Bertha Mitchell, Kathrine (Mitchell) Jacobs, Eleanor Mitchell, brothers William (Pete) Mitchell, Daniel Mitchell, Charles Mitchell, Herbert Mitchell. Elder Paul H. Mitchell our Beloved Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, Cousin and Friend, we all celebrate the gift of life you were to each of us. Thank you for all the great memories we will cherish to eternity.
