Pauline Mimi Sherard, age 90, a long-time resident of Columbus Ohio went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday February 24, 2016. She is survived by her children, Phillip (Diane) Sherard, Stephanie (Edward) Johnson; four grandchildren, Trevor and Thomas Sherard, Damon (Lilia) and Justin Johnson; six great-grandchildren, Edward Johnson, Thalia Johnson, Cameron Johnson, Karma Johnson, Evan Johnson and Justin Johnson Jr. along with other relatives and close friends. Pauline was born in New Bedford, Ma February 21, 1926, to Antoine Gomes and Sarah Ryder. She attended and graduated from the historic National Trade and Professional School for Women and Girls in Washington, DC before moving to Columbus, Oh in 1944. Pauline lived in California for several years where her carefree spirit thrived in the warm California sun. She returned to Columbus and was a caregiver for her mother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and close friends. She was lovingly known to her close friends as Polly and to her grand and great-grandchildren as Mimi. Pauline had a big heart, free-spirited personality and positive energy. She was a loving daughter, mother, doting grandmother and great-grandmother. Pauline will be deeply missed by all who knew her. A repast has been prepared for family and friends following the memorial service at the home of Damon and Lilia Johnson 263 Crossing Creek N, Gahanna OH 43230.
