Peggie Jeane Collins was born on October 11, 1943 in Winston Salem, North Carolina to the late Mary Goode Johnson and Limuel Thompson. She lived in South Carolina then Peggie relocated to Columbus, Ohio where she spent her early childhood years. She is the product of Columbus Public Schools, graduating from Linden McKinley High School. At an early age she joined the Mt. Hermon Baptist Church under the late S.R. Doughty. She was a member of The Gospel Choir and attended Sunday School. She loved to cook, spend time with her grandchildren and go out to eat with her church buddies after service. She was also an employee of Kaufman Latimer for many years. Peggie is preceded in death by parents, Mary Goode Johnson and Limuel Thompson and Cornelia Thompson, brother Jerry Johnson, sister, Marvetta Hardin. She leaves to cherish her husband of 54 years, Gerald T. Collins, daughters, Sonji (Joel) Waits, Nona (DeHaven) Lee, grandsons Jaden and Braylon Lee, sisters, Eunice (Ollie) McKinney, Venice (Willard) McIntosh, Best Friend Brenda Jarrett, host of friends, godchildren, nieces and nephews and special daughters.
