Percy Leon Alfonso Jackson -- Sunrise: May 10, 1931 -- Sunset: August 8, 2024
"Leon", as he was really known by his friends and family, was born in Wilmington, DE to Joseph B. Jackson, Sr., and Minerva P. Jackson, as the second son of eight children.
After Leon graduated from Howard H.S., he attended Bowling Green University. Leon joined the USAF in 1950. While stationed overseas in Germany, he met his first wife Hannelore Stoessel. They had two children, Patricia and Corey.
Leon retired as a TSGT USAF with an honorable discharge in 197O, serving 20 years and 6 days. Leon also worked at the Training Institute of Central Ohio (TICO) Youth Correction for the State of Ohio. He retired in 1994 after serving 28 years.
He was a member of and served as Past Master of Prince Hall King David Masonic Lodge #116. Other houses he was involved with were Alla Baba Temple #53, L.D. Easton Consistory #21, PastPatron Grace Chapter #100 Order of The Eastern Star.
Leon loved to travel across America by RV, spending quality time in each state except Alaska. After RVing it was cruising. His hobbies were model trains and crocheting!
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 26yrs, Sheila M. Jackson; daughters, Patricia (David) King, Columbus, OH, Cherita ( Rafael ) Reyes, Stamford, CT; daughter-in-law, Margarita Jackson, Riverside, CA; sons, Martin (Melissa) Fair, Eric Fair, Columbus; OH; brother, Arvon U. Jackson, Wilmington, DE; brothers in law, Jayme (Christine) Fair, Duncan (Dorothy) Fair, Mark (Michelle) Fair, Brett (Charisse) Austin, Cameron Carr, all in Ohio, Bryan Fair, Tuscaloosa, AL; sisters in law, Teresa Moody and Kimberly Fair, Columbus, Ohio, Delores B. Jackson, New Castle, DE and Carolyn Jackson, Wilmington, DE; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Preceded in death by parents, Joseph B. Jackson, Sr., and Minerva P. Jackson; first wife, Hannelore S. Jackson; son, Corey L. Jackson; brothers, Joseph B. Jackson, Jr., Christopher N. Jackson, Robert S. Jackson, Sr., and baby Howard Jackson; sisters, Evelyn Brown, Minerva A. Harmon, and a host of other ancestors.
