Phyllis 'Sister' Cunningham

Ms. Phyllis “Sister” Cunningham, age 85, born August 9, 1931, went home to glory on May 6, 2017 at her home. She was one of 12 siblings born to Richard and Julia Cunningham. Baptized at a young age at Flat Rock Baptist Church in Rome GA, she later rededicated her life through baptism at Advent United Church of Christ in Columbus, OH. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by our father and the love of her life, Cleveland Traylor, her brothers, Milton, Emanuel, Eugene, and Jimmy, two sisters Emma Jean and Rebecca, three sisters-in law, and best friend, Flozella Martin. Left to cherish memories of Phyllis are her children, Richard (Evelyn) Cunningham, Shirley White, Melvin (Callie) Cunningham, Lillian Tyson, all of Columbus, OH, John Cunningham, Mary (Harnton) Bell, both of Godley, TX, Alberta (Valdon) Austin, Sr., Jeannie (Darryl) Davidson, and Thomas (Darlene) Cunningham, all of Columbus, OH; four brothers, Thurman (Yolanda), Herman, Richard and Bernard Cunningham; six sisters, Gloria Faye (Frazier) Hopkins, Bernice Crawford, Helen, Joelle, Gertrude, and Cheryl Cunningham, all of Columbus, OH; 23 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, 14 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
