Phyllis Theresa Madry

Phyllis Theresa Sherrod Madry was born in New York on September 13, 1947 to King and Beryl Sherrod. She was a graduate of Evander Childs High School and Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio. On November 15, 1969, Phyllis married Aaron Carroll Madry, Jr. Their vows of commitment to each other last for more than 45 years. Their union was blessed with a son, Aaron Carroll Madry, III. For over 36 years, Phyllis worked as a manager in various administrative and fundraising capacities at WOSU Public Media. On Thursday, June 5, 2014, at the age of 66, Phyllis passed from this life while at The Ohio State University's Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital. Her parents preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, Aaron Jr.; son Aaron III (LaShawn); and grandson, Jordan Aaron Madry. Although Phyllis was an only child, she is also survived by many sister-girlfriends, sister and brothers-in-law, and other family and friends.
