Pierre Ramon Johnson

Pierre Ramon Johnson Sr. was a caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He left this world suddenly on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at the age of 65. Pierre was born to the late Lawrence and Millicent Johnson on July 8, 1956. After graduating in 1974 from Central Evening High School, Pierre chased his dreams of driving a dump truck. For 35 years, he had worked with his father and mother in their family owned trucking business where he started driving a truck at the age of 15. Pierre affectionately became known in the trucking industry as “Ice Tea”, as this was his favorite drink. He ventured out on his own for several years until he returned to his family business in 2009. Some years later he began a new venture at the Ohio Department of Transportation where he served as a highway technician and his latest position as a supervisor. Pierre was a “gentle giant and a big teddy bear.” He loved life, his family, and His God. Later in life, he came to serve the Lord as a member of New Birth Christian Ministries. Pierre acknowledged that it was God in his life that provided for him and protected him throughout. His infectious smile, and his personality would draw you to him. He was a loving man, he never met a stranger, and could get along with anyone in spite of differences. Pierre was a true Buckeye fan who would host “tailgate” parties for the OSU “Ichigan” Game, which made for a fun rivalry between the Buckeye and Wolverine fans. Pierre also enjoyed bowling, watching and attending tractor pulls, and NASCAR racing. Pierre will be greatly missed. He is predeceased by his parents, Lawrence and Millicent Johnson. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Sherry; son, Pierre Jr; twin daughters, Cherie and Cierre; granddaughter, Angela; brothers, Byrne (Judith) Johnson, Myron (Melissa) Johnson; sisters, Lawrencine Johnson, Francine (Allen) Scott, Reneé (Anthony) Jenkins, Millicent McElroy, Melita (Jobbie) McElroy; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
