Rahlene Lillian Elder

June 10, 1938 — September 2, 2019

RAHLENE LILLIAN ELDER, born on June 10, 1938, in Weston, West Virginia, succumbed to her death from Metastatic Lung Cancer in her home, in Columbus, Ohio on September 2, 2019, with her daughter, son and grandson around her. Rahlene was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth ("Betty") Gardner, and her father, William Gardner, her sister, Nancy Jean Marshall, her brother, David William Gardner, her late husband, Clark Elder, her first husband, James Albert Jefferson. Rahlene left behind her eldest son, James Michael Jefferson along with his wife, Coretta Jefferson , her daughter, Jennifer Jefferson-Beard, her son, Jonathan Matthew Jefferson, and her son Christopher Edward Elder. She also left behind her grandson, Jonathan Jacob Zomphier, grandson, David Matthew Jefferson, grandson, Christopher Marcus Jefferson, grandson Jordan Matthew Jefferson, granddaughters Lindsay Beth Jefferson along with her husband, Phillip Broome, Elizabeth Marie Jefferson, Davina Marie Jefferson, Paige Lynn Elder and Riley Ann Elder. She left behind her great grandsons, Karl Lamont Goines, Langston Stark Broome, and great-granddaughter Ava Elizabeth Jefferson. Rahlene also left behind her dearly beloved nieces, Barbara Kim Marshall, Jamie Linnea Gardner and nephew, Thomas Kevin Marshall. She had other aunts, cousins and many family members too numerous to name along with many friends, but well-loved by her. Rahlene spent her life in retail and retired in from K-Mart in 2008. Spent her time making a home for her daughter and herself, traveling, playing computer games, and just enjoying the company of her family. Rahlene's life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by her understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lived. Her grand laughter, her gentle touch, and her soft beautiful skin brought so much joy to our family. She is the rock of our family and will always live through each of us.
