Ray H. Moss, Jr.

Ray Harold Moss was born in Columbus Ohio, to the late Ray H. Moss Sr. and Emma M. Moss. He attended Columbus Public Schools, graduating from East High School, Class of 1964. While at East High School, Ray was a member of the Wrestling Team and Chess Club. Upon graduating, Ray received a full scholarship to Morehouse College in Atlanta Georgia, where he attended before joining the United States Navy. Ray also attended the Ohio State University taking a variety of Continuing Education courses, as well as served as a tutor in the fields of Math and Science. A relationship with Marjorie Myers born Ray a son, Walter Eric Myers. Ray later married Pamela Harris and of this union was born a daughter Shelbi Jeanae’ Moss. Ray worked various jobs throughout his life including telemarketing and tutoring. Ray joined Union Grove Baptist Church on December 24, 1985. He was a faithful and dedicated member. He sang in the Men’s Choir and missionary program, a faithful member of bible study and various work of the church whenever needed. Ray also frequented many local churches around the city for their bible studies, men’s programs, and musical concerts. Ray was also a world traveler, including a memorable trip to the Motherland of Africa. Visiting the country of Eritera and surrounding areas. Left to cherish his memory are his two children, Eric and Shelbi, grandchildren Kendre’, Aarick, Devan, Ariannah and Aaron; and great grandchildren Asia and Ryleigh; his seven siblings, Nisaa “Patsy” Rahman, Robert Moss, Andrew (Rhonda) Moss, A. Kay Moss, Jackie (Bruce) Fortune, Carol “Birdie” Moss, David (Peni) Moss and host of nieces and nephews, family and friends.
