Raymond Randolph Redman

November 7, 1920 — November 17, 2013

Raymond Randolph Redman, age 93 passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2013. He was preceded in death by parents Milton and Pauline Redman, brothers George and Clarence Redman of Paw Paw , and William (Rita) Redman of Keyser West Virginia. He is survived by his sister, Edna Fisher of Columbus Ohio and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a special great nephew Wynston Fisher. Raymond loved education. When he was young there was not a “Colored” high school in Paw Paw, West Virginia, but he wanted his brothers and sister to attend high school. So, he petitioned the Board of Education to pay the room and board for his brothers and sister and other students in Paw Paw to attend “Colored” high schools in other cities. Raymond, Uncle Raym, as his nieces and nephews called him, was an avid hunter and fisherman, which were two of his passions. His other passion was watching thoroughbred race horses in competition. He loved music. He was an accomplished and highly skilled jazz saxophonist. Raymond proudly served in the United States Army and was a disabled veteran of World War II.
