Rev. Jack Edmond Watkins, age 92, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, November 20, 2013. Born January 9, 1921 to Henry Watkins and Tillie Garrett in Columbus, OH., Rev. Watkins was a graduate of the Capital University Methodist Theological Seminary, and the founder and Pastor Emeritus of Mt. Gerizim Missionary Baptist Church. He also served in CCC Camp, Newark, OH, and was the prior owner operator of Jack's Barbershop. He was predeceased by his sisters, Betty Becker, Ruby Harris, and Dorothy Ross; brothers, Paul, David and Clarence Watkins, 1 grandchild, and 1 great-grandchild. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of seventy-two years, Eleanor (Wilson) Watkins; four daughters, Carol D. Wilkerson, Patricia A. (John) Milner-Turner, Helen M. Gemmell-Miller, and Jacqueline E. Dennis; siblings, Etta Hairston, Bill Watkins, Janet Brown, and Anita Hines; 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great grandchildren.
