Richard Winton Jackson

RICHARD WINTON JACKSON was born on Tuesday, June 17, 1947. He received his formal education from Columbus City Schools and was a graduate of East High School. Following graduation, Richard enlisted in the United States Army. He received an honorable discharge, returned to Columbus, and was employed at Buckeye Steel until he was injured at age twenty-six. Richard spent his following years being a devoted husband and father. Blessed with seventy-three years of life, our beloved Richard was called from labor to eternal rest on Sunday, March 21, 2021. He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores Jackson; mother, Betty Jane (Guess) Jackson; father, James Jackson; sisters, Diane Jackson and Paula Jackson Lawrence; and brothers, Barry Jackson and Kevin Jackson. Loving memories are cherished by his daughter, Kassandra Jackson; son, Steven Jackson; granddaughter, Isabelle Jackson; sisters, Nancy Jackson, Leslie Jackson, and Terry Jackson; brother, Wayne Jackson; many nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.

Beginning at 1PM, doors will open for a walk-through viewing. For the mutual wellness and respect of those present, all visitors are asked to wear an appropriate face covering, apply an alcohol-based hand sanitizer spray upon entry, and maintain proper distancing according to current public health guidelines. We encourage you to utilize Richard's memorial celebration wall to view his video tribute, send flowers and post an expression of sympathy and support for the family. A receptacle will also be available for on-site collection of sympathy cards and condolence letters.
