Rita Annette Moorefield

Rita Annette Moorefield, age 74. was born in Atlanta, Georgia on May 1, 1937 to the late Clarence and Katherine Reid. She was one of three children. She graduated from East High School in Akron, Ohio and Ohio Dominican. She was a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha and a lifelong member of the Nation of Islam. Rita retired from DCSC. She owned and operated the Dry Muffin Mix Restaurant and Dress Shop. She loved shopping, cooking and traveling. She was united in holy matrimony to Clarence Moorefield. Rita passed away from a massive stroke on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Mt. Carmel-West Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents; spouse and a brother, Steve Reid. She leaves to cherish her memories, daughter, Katherine Moorefield; son, Ahmed Moorefield; grandchildren, Amber, Mia, Alfred, Michael and Raphael; great grandchildren, Angalique, Destiny and Elijah Moorefield and Ziarea Little; brother, Stan Reid; best friends, Wilma and Sierca as well as other relatives and friends.
