Robert Cummings Jr

Robert “Ak-Med” Cummings, Jr. was born on December 26, 1951 in Thomson, Georgia to Robert Cummings, Sr. and the late Mary Cummings-Hill entered into eternal rest at Grant Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio on April 6, 2012. He received his education at Weequahic High School, Newark, New Jersey. Ak-Med was a member of the Muslim Community Center, Columbus, Ohio. In his pastime, one of his greatest joys was spending time with his grandson (Dray). He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Cummings-Hill, his sister, Gwendolyn “Tinkie” Cummings. Ak-Med was a loving and devoted father to his children. He leaves to cherish his memories two son, Samark Cummings of Newark, New Jersey, Ra’Shawn Cummings of Columbus, Ohio; three daughters, Shawnette Cummings of Tampa, Florida, Iyesha Bush of Norfolk, Virginia, Ak-Kiya Cummings of Columbus, Ohio; one brother, Raymond Cummings of Thomson, Georgia; six sisters; Margaret (Horace) Gunter, Nellie Cummings, Cindy Cummings, all of Columbus, Ohio, Jeanette Nwankwo, and Marian (Ricky) Hester both of Thomson, Georgia Joyce Cummings of Warrenton, Georgia; three grandchildren, Alon’Dray Cummings, Ra’yana Miller, and Mauree Miller all of Columbus, Ohio; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and special friends. He richly blessed us all.
