Robert Everett Rhodes

Robert Bob E. Rhodes, age 81, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 13, 2012. Bob was predeceased by his parents Richard Sr. and Sara Rhodes, and his brother Richard Jr. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 51 years, Dolores Dayton four children, Kim, Robin (Ronald), Gina and Darryl; 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; sister Jean Lightner; brother Charles (Shirley) Rhodes; special niece Linda; and a host of other family and friends. Bob was born in Columbus, Ohio and attended Columbus Public schools. Bob received his BS in Biological Science from OSU. While at OSU he served in ROTC. Upon graduation he entered the US Air Force fulfilling a career as 1st Lt. Air Traffic Controller. Bob worked many positions with the Federal Government and retired as Deputy Director for DLA in 1984. He will always be remembered for his dedication to St. Philip Episcopal Church, where he taught Sunday School, worked continually with Budget Finance, was President of Episcopal Young Churchmen, and most especially his commitment to the Food Pantry. Bob shall be remembered for being a servant for the Lord to his family, his friends and others.
