Robert L. 'Rob' Taylor

Robert Rob Louis Taylor, 53, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away suddenly on Friday, June 3, 2016 at his home. He is survived by his mother Dorothy Taylor, daughter Kristen Brown, brother Michael (Belinda) Wright, sister Kim Wright, and several neices and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Ronald Leon Taylor Sr. and his brother Ronald Leon Taylor Jr. Robert was born on April 16, 1963 in Columbus, Ohio and was baptized at Union Grove Baptist Church under the late Reverend Phale D. Hale. He attended Brookhaven High school were he played on the basketball and baseball team. Robert loved sports. His favorite teams were the Oakland Raiders, Michigan Wolverines, New York Yankees and Los Angeles Lakers. On holidays, he was known to throw down in the kitchen! Family and friends always looked forward to his top secret homemade macaroni and cheese. Not only did he love to cook, but he loved to go out to eat as well. Once a month, he would take his daughter and her brother out to eat and they would try new restaurants around the city. Robert enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his mother and daughter. He liked watching tv and hanging out with his mom, and he would always brag to his family, friends, and nurses about his daughters accomplishments and his love for her. He will be remembered as a very social man. He made a daily appearance on Facebook where he would say, good morning to his friends and thank the Lord for another day. A special thanks to the staff at OSU Ross Heart Hospital and his nurse Linda for the care they provided while Robert fought his battle with Congestive Heart Failure. The family would also like to extend their thanks to their church families and friends for all of their prayers and support during this difficult time.
