Robert Lamont Pullien

Robert “Bob” Lamont Pullien was born May 17, 1943 in Columbus, Ohio, to the union of Jessie L. Pullien and Lucille L. Jones Pullien. He confessed Christ at an early age and was a member of First Church of God. Bob was a graduate of East High School. Following graduation, he served in the United States Navy. After being honorably discharged from the military, he obtained an Associates degree in Communications. Bob was a weatherman and television personality for both WLWC-Channel 4 and WBNS-Channel 10; he was also a radio disc jockey for jazz radio station, WBBY. Bob’s outgoing and community-driven personality was a natural transition into his careers with the Private Industry Council and CVS Pharmacy, where he created job training programs that included career counseling. He was a sports enthusiast. In his earlier years, he played tennis and enjoyed all genres of music. On Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at the age of 74, Robert L. Pullien was called home to rest eternally with the Lord. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Derick LaMont Pullien, brother Jessie L. Pullien, mother-in-law Willa Starks-McCray, and brother-in-law Albert H. Starks, Jr. Those who remain to cherish memories of Bob include his devoted wife Brenda Starks-Pullien; children, Wilbert W. Brown, Jr., Kevin-Jamal (Clinetta) Muhammad, Troy Jones and Tony Jones; grandchildren, Jamilah Imani Muhammad, Aliyah Imani Muhammad and Ayesha Imani Muhammad; siblings, Barbara Pullien (James) Jackson, Bernard L. Pullien (Genelle), Patricia L. Pullien and Terri L. (Steven) Allen; sister-in-law Regina (Allan) Rouse; earth sisters, Johnnie Mae Hearns, Frances James (Eugene) Brown, Vernadine C. Pickens, Teri Halloway and Shirley Mayfield Butler; earth brother Thomas Kirtley; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
