Robert Leon Nooks Sr., 81 “Bobby” was born on December 5, 1933 in Xenia, Ohio to that late Forrest and Geneva Nooks. He was called home to be with our Heavenly Father early Sunday morning on January 18, 2015 at the Zusman Community Hospice. He was baptized at an early age at Middle Run Baptist Church. Bobby attended Xenia East High School and then entered the United States Army. He came to Columbus, Ohio where he met the woman of his dreams, Beatrice Tucker. They married and raised four wonderful children together. Bobby worked construction jobs where he and his co-workers did beautiful brickwork on various churches and homes throughout Columbus and its suburbs. He was a member of Laborers Local 423. He loved the Lord and he loved his family very much. He led a very simple life. He is preceded in death by his parents; Forrest and Geneva Nooks; wife, Beatrice Nooks; brothers, James, Forrest Nooks Jr., Ralph Nooks Sr.; sister, Juanita Anderson; son, Douglas Porter; great granddaughter, RanShawnna Walker; grandfather, John Tate. He is survived by his loving and devoted family; sons, Robert Jr., and Larry Nooks Sr.; daughters, Joyce Tucker and Diane Hassan; brother, David Nooks Sr.; sister, Marvene (Butch) Greene both from Xenia, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends.
