Preceded in death by parents Mary and Robert Phipps; sister Maxine Johnson and grandmother Zanie Smith. Survived by wife, Bernice Phipps; sons, Robert and Bryan Phipps; daughters, Carolyn (Michael) Towns, Angela Brown, Marcella (Pastor Harold) Bailey of Spartanberg, South Carolina, Sherri (Jimmie Slaughter) Phipps, Valerie Phipps; siblings, Wilma Feaster, Billy (Genny) Phipps, Barbara Curtwright, Carolyn (Jerome) Johnson; special grandsons, Bryan and Terrell; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
