Robert J. Simons, IV, affectionately known as Junior, was born January 19, 1955 in Columbus, Ohio. He attended Linden-McKinley High School and enlisted in the United States Army. Robert retired from the Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA), where was employed as a Bus Driver. In his spare time, Robert loved remodeling homes and helping other people with his handyman skills. The one word that best describes Robert is competitor - he loved to win. For over 27 years, he was an outstanding little league coach for the Pirates and the Eastland Vikings. He had an eye for talent. He was a dedicated, die-hard fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns. Robert was very outgoing. He had an amazing personality. Once you met him, you could never forget his huge smile. He was a loving husband and an excellent provider for his family. On January 17, 2015, Robert passed away while at The Ohio State University Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert J. Simons, III and Ginger Dickerson Simons, aunt Delores Bridges, and uncle Ferris Lee Dickerson. Those who remain to cherish memories of Robert include his loving and devoted wife of 14 years, Peggy L. Simons; children, Robert J., V (Tamara), Nehemiah, Jamie (Michelle), Roshon, and Joseph; stepchildren, Shamika and Marcus; brother Roger (Lorine) Simons; aunt Sandra (Milford) Hill; 14 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and a host of stepsisters, stepbrothers, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
