Roberto Tomas Vallejo, affectionately known also at Tony, was born February 1, 1950 to Tomas Vallejo and Dolores Mercado Santiago in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He attended Esuela Superior Central High School in the Santurce district of San Juan and later, at the age of 18, he enlisted in the United States Army. After retirement from active duty with the Armed Forces, Tony became a dedicated employee of the Ball Corporation as well as Pressware International. He accomplished a great deal throughout his career. Tony took great pride in his Boricua heritage and his family life. While Tony would have liked to have been able to spend more time with his extended family members residing throughout the United States, it goes without saying that he loved each of them unconditionally. He never met a stranger and found great joy in making others laugh. He enjoyed holiday barbeques, talking with family and friends, and sharing stories about life. Tony had a passion for boating, fishing, motorcycling, and traveling. He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns and never missed a game. Tony joined Faith Ministries Church with his family and was an active member of the Media Ministry until he could no longer participate due to his illness. Roberto Tomas Vallejo went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. His mother, Dolores, preceded him death. Tony leaves to celebrate and cherish his memory, his devoted wife of 22 years, Joyce A. (Mobley) Vallejo; his loving children, Roberto (Laura) Vallejo, Geno Vallejo, Antonio Truss, Ricardo Truss, and Ana M. Vallejo; father Tomas Vallejo; sister Carmen (Winfredo) Tellado; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and pet Yorkie, Lola. He truly will be missed by the people who love him most. His spirit will live on forever.
