Roosevelt J. Henderson was born April 1, 1958 in Columbus, Ohio, and was called home unexpectedly on August 11, 2020, at the age of 62. He graduated from East High School where he was very popular with the ladies, but was known also for his intelligence and his incredible "street smarts." He was given the nickname "Roose" and he lived by loyalty, respect, and most of all, love. He loved wrestling, basketball, football, fashion, top hats and cars; but, most importantly, Roosevelt loved his family. His children were his light and he loved them all unconditionally. There was never a day he wouldn't express his love for them even when times were hard. His smile was infectious and would cause everyone else to smile. Roose was a smooth brother and had a walk like he was gliding on water. Roosevelt has played many roles: father, brother, grandpa, nephew, and a great friend. Roose was honorable, kind and charismatic; but, above all, he cared with a passion. Roosevelt was preceded in death by his mother, Mary, grandparents Robert and Eula Mae Beasley, sister Sonqueta (nephew DeAndre), and favorite aunt Gretchen Rudolph. Roosevelt is survived by his children, Rica Mitchell, Roosevelt Bradford, Rayshine Moore and Charles Holiday; sister Shanita Henderson; a host of grandchildren, Antonio, Diamond, Rob'Rica, Protiza, Miyonna, Maylie, Kai'Laya, Trinity, Roosevelt Jr., Maylaysia, and Deandre; great nephew Landon; and great grandchildren, Jamari, Ta'kizianna, Darrell, Mi'keyonnia, and Jereimah. Many cousins and friends are also left here to cherish his memories. As we all know, Roosevelt embraced everyone with love; so, continue to give love and cherish every moment you have with one another. His family and friends will miss Roosevelt and his ability to always put a smile on their faces and warm their hearts with love. We pray his spirit lives in each of us forever.
