Roscoe Floyd

April 19, 1936 — October 14, 2012

Roscoe Floyd Sr., 76, departed this life on October 14, 2012 at Grant Medical Center. He retired from the United States Air Force after 25 years of service and also retired from the General Electric Corporation. Devoted husband, father, and grandfather and was blessed to celebrate 50 years of marriage on April 28, 2012. He was a member of New Genesis Baptist Church, served as a Deacon and was a member of the choir. Preceded in death by his mother Mildred Floyd; father Lester Floyd; and son Roscoe Floyd, Jr. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Evelyn Floyd; daughter, Angela (Eddie) Green; grandchildren, Evan and Adriana Green, Destinee Green; brothers, James (Betty) Floyd, Lee Floyd; sisters, Sharyn Floyd, and Virginia Floyd and a host of other relatives and friends. Roscoe grew up in Kent, Ohio and joined the Air Force in 1954. During his service he traveled the world spending time in Okinawa, Japan, Maine, and Taiwan. He retired in 1979 as a Master Sergeant. He earned a B.A. degree in Management from Park College. He enjoyed spending time with his family, bass fishing, and watching professional and college sports.
