Rose Bloom Terry was born on November 5, 1933 in Kimball, West Virginia to the proud parents of the late Edward Lee and Rosanna Terry. Rose Bloom was the oldest sibling of 16 children born in this union. Rose Bloom peacefully departed this life on Thursday, November 27, 2014, she was 81 years young. She was educated in the Kimball, West Virginia school system and was a faithful, longtime member of Hope Lutheran Church until her health began to decline. Rose Bloom was known for her outspoken and very independent spirit. Her love of basketball bonded her with her 8 brothers, with the Los Angeles Lakers and Chicago Bulls being her favorite teams. She loved watching Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, and Kobe Bryant during their glory days! And of course she was an avid fan of The Ohio State University basketball team! She enjoyed a good western, starring John Wayne, Gunsmoke and Bonanza weren’t too far behind. When those shows were on, you better not bother her or you would get a good tongue lashing. Rose Bloom did not let her disability stop her from enjoying life. She was a strong willed woman, as well as strong in strength. When she held your hand, she had a firm grip that would make you grimace a bit. Rose Bloom held her own and was not a push over by any means. Bloom had a strong love for her family and had a generous and giving spirit. Predeceased by parents Edward Lee Terry, Sr. and Rosanna Terry, and brother Edward Lee Terry, Jr. She leaves to cherish her memory sisters, Cleopatria (Melvin) Steward, Juanita Marie Blackenberry, Florine Castleman, Katherine (Rupert) Harrell, Dorothy Holleman, Cynthia (Mark) Carpenter all of Columbus, OH, and Verona Terry of Flint, Michigan; brothers, William Terry, Nathaniel (Margo) Terry, Clarence (Brenda) Terry, Lonnie Terry, Richard (Lue) Terry, James (Valeria) Terry and Jeffrey Terry, all from Columbus, Ohio; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
